In a stunning display of tactical prowess and unwavering focus, Jason Medina emerged victorious at The Park Chess Club PAMAS-Q Rapid Chess Tournament last January 4, 2025 at
Ayala Malls Marikina Heights, Marikina. He clinched the championship title with an impressive score of 6.5/7 points.
His victory was characterized by an unblemished record through the first six matches (6/6), Round 1 with Ricardo Manliclic Jr (Former champion in the Koko Pimentel Marikina Christmas Senior Chess Festival 2024), Arturo Pabuena, Edwin Tendencia, Jayson Esparagoza, Rowie Glen Artienda and Denniel Penafiel where he exhibited strategic brilliance and captured full points against each of his opponents.
In what was arguably the most pivotal game, his final match ended in a draw, securing his top spot in the tournament with a half-point lead over 2nd placed Leo Cruz. This strategic draw not only showcased his astute endgame management but also demonstrated his maturity in ensuring tournament victory without unnecessary risk.
