In a dramatic conclusion marked by competitive tension, Vladimir Gonzales emerged victorious at the 2nd Mayor Gerald Aritao Chess Tournament Open 2025 held on last January 11, 2025 at Sulib Covered Court, Pangil, overcoming a rare and challenging triple tie situation.
Vladimir demonstrated exceptional skill and strategic brilliance throughout the tournament, finishing with an impressive score of 6/7 points together with Narciso Gumila Jr and Jersey Marticio, each equally hungry for triumph. However, it was Valdimir’s superior buchholz with 29 set him apart.

Despite losing his 2nd game with Teofilo Moncado, Vladimir made a 5-winning streak against Art Nathaniel Buha, Adrian Esteva, Gabriel Siano, Narciso Gumila Jr and Richie Jocson resulting in a triple tie in the first place.
